What’s in a name? Your domain name will be your website address. Remember, your domain name will be seen in search engines, business cards, marketing literature, billboards, newspaper ads, and everywhere else you advertise. Here are a few pointers to keep in mind when selecting your business domain name.

Keep it Simple – When coming up with a domain name, ask yourself, if someone drove by your billboard, would they be able to remember your domain name?

Be Descriptive – Describing your products or services within your domain name may be helpful as well. For example, a boat insurance company in Boston would best be served by a name like Bostonboatinsurance.com.

Older is Wiser – If you already have a domain name, keep it. A domain name that has been around a while has more credibility with Google than a new one. This will be helpful with your search engine marketing.
